Objectives

MADE’s mission aims at producing knowledge and qualifying professionals in the business management area for acting as teachers, researchers and practitioners, fostering critical thinking that can contribute to Brazilian scientific, technologic, cultural, and social development, founded on ethical commitment and social responsibility.

According to its professional essence, MADE has three main objectives:

  1. a) to develop specific competences related to business management with emphasis on change processes and organizational development;
  2. b) to develop technical and scientific production that can contribute to the academic and professional debate on the interdisciplinary themes built around business management;
  3. c) to consolidate the linkages between Estácio de Sá University and the corporate milieu, the development agencies and the regional integration organizations towards promoting a permanent interchange of experiences.

Length of the program

The Master’s Degree Program in Management And Business Development (Mestrado em Administração e Desenvolvimento Empresarial – MADE) has been structured in order to be accomplished in the 24 months, since the date of the student’s enrollment in the Program. It encompasses four academic semesters: a) during  the two first semesters, the student must complete 12 (twelve) courses; b) the third semester is built around Master’s Thesis Orientation I (preparation and qualification of master’s thesis project; and c) the fourth semester is Master’s Thesis Orientation II (execution of field research, a previous seminar before the thesis defense, and master’s thesis defense itself).
